Labour leaders in Imo state have
called an indefinite strike action in the state, halting all government
activities.
The situation is said to have been broiling for a
while over reports that the government was planning to cut salaries.
The state’s chairman of Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, Mr. Austen Chilakpu, ordered
all workers to remain in their respective homes until otherwise directed.
The decision was made on the basis of the government’s
failure to paid owed salaries and allowances.
