Stephen Thompson was involved in
a crash at the North West 200 races on the 16th of
May where he suffered multiple injuries but the Motorcyclist underwent a
surgery yesterday to amputate the lower part of his arm.
Thompson suffered a collapsed lung, bleeding in his
brain as well as fractures in his arms and legs when he crashed on the 16th of May and the 39 year old was rushed
to the hospital and has been there since. According to Thompson’s family,
Thompson’s arm was having complications due to infected blood vessels and
muscle wastage and the doctors advised that the lower arm be amputated in order
not to risk a more complicated situation. Thompson would make a full recovery
according to his doctors but he would be missing an arm.
Thompson’s professional career
seems to be coming to a sad end but the 39 year old would be more than happy to
be alive following the horrific crash.
