Olivier Giroud should join the cast of mission impossible, as he
embarked on the mission to take Arsenal to the last 16.
Arsenal
starts most of their matches slow and this was no different, but 15 minutes
before the end of the first half Giroud opened the scoring.
It
looked like more misery was to be piled on for Arsenal, when Giroud looked to
suffer an ankle injury, which he shook off and converted Campbell’s pass four
minutes after the break.
Olympiakos
committed players forward, but luck was on Arsenal’s side as they got a penalty
in the 67th minute which the Frenchman duly converted for his hattrick and sent
Arsenal to the knockout stage.
