Hoodlums in Abia State today
stormed Obingwa Local Government of Abia State with guns, cutlasses, and
knivers and razed down the INEC building in the area.
Residents of the community suspect that the fire
disaster was politically motivated as the August 10th date fixed for the
commencement of the state election tribunal is just around the corner.
Results from the local government is among many issues
that is strongly being contested. The fire destroyed documents, furniture
and other valuables in the office leaving only the wall of the building and
remains of materials made of steel.
