Angel Di Maria is focused on the
future now and has insisted that United wanted to sell him to PSG after just
one season at Old Trafford.
The Argentine became the most expensive player to join
the EPL after United signed him for almost £60 million from Madrid, but he
became a costly flop.
He had a brilliant start in the EPL, but hamstring and
thigh injuries saw his contribution to the team dwindle and a falling out with
LVG. He was subsequently sold to PSG for £44.3 million.
“First, you must know that Manchester United wanted to
sell me,” the former Real Madrid man told the press.
“It is a shared decision between the three parties.
They wanted to sell me. I also wanted to leave and PSG wanted me.
“But I am very happy be here. Manchester is the past.”
“The club have been trying to recruit me for several
years,” he explained. “It is a great source of pride to come here and play with
such important players like Ibra, [Javier] Pastore, [Marco] Verratti, David
Luiz.
“All have the objective of winning the Champions
League; it is also mine.”
