Kalmar FF are surprised by news
that Liverpool are interested in signing Nigeria Flying Eagles striker Taiwo
Awoniyi.
Kalmar have a pre-contract with Awoniyi, the pre-contract
agreement states that Awoniyi will sign for the Swedish club when he turns 18
this month.
However, Awoniyi could now sign
for Liverpool and the Swedish side may seek to take the Nigerian on a loan and
probably get a compensation.
Kalmar FF director Andersson Borstam while speaking said
“He has done fantastically well and there’s been around 10-15
clubs who are interested in him. It is likely that he ends up in a big club,
even if we are not hundred percent sure how this ends.
“We’ll
see what this can mean for us, we’re not quite sure on everything yet.”
