18 selected contestants of the
MTN Project Fame Season 8 would battle for a slot in the Academy during the
Opening Gala show on Saturday, August 1, 2015 in Lagos, Nigeria.
According to TheNET,
the 18 contestants will perform before a packed live studio audience and
judges, for the best to be picked.
It was learnt that the lucky qualifiers from the
opening will make their way into the famous MTN Project Fame Academy to compete
for this year’s MTN Project Fame winner.
Information gathered shows that the overall winner of
the competition will walk away with a grand prize of N5m, a brand new SUV and a
recording deal worth millions of Naira.
While the 1st runner up will get a saloon car and N3m,
the 2nd runner up will be awarded a brand new saloon car along with N1m. The
3rd runner up will receive a cash prize of N1m.
It would be recalled, the likes of Inyanya, Praiz,
Chidima amongst others have all earned their rise to stardom from this
platform.
