Croatia closes border to refugees
The
arrival of over 11,000 refugees in Croatia has forced the country’s government
to shut down its borders with Serbia.
The
migrants are trying to reach Germany, and are trying to pass through Croatia
after Hungary shut it borders with a razor-wire fence.
The
country’s Prime Minister, Zoran Milanovic, said the country didn’t have the
resources to hold them anymore.
“Don’t
come here anymore,” added Croatian Interior Minister Ranko Ostojic. ‘Stay
in refugee centres in Serbia and Macedonia.
‘This
is not the road to Europe. Buses can’t take you there. It’s a lie.’
A
meeting is scheduled next Wednesday between EU leaders to find out how to
manage the refugee crisis.
