Ibe
chooses England
Liverpool’s highly-rated youngster Jordon Ibe will not be playing for Nigeria after
choosing England as his international team.
Ibe,
who has lived in London all his life, is a Nigerian by birth because of his
father, but has chosen not to play for the Super Eagles according to manager Sunday
Oliseh.
Oliseh
revealed that he had held discussions with the Liverpool starlet to play for
the Eagles, but talks fell through.
“Jordon
Ibe’s family informed me by a telephone call, that he was giving priority to an
England call-up. We wish them well,” Oliseh tweeted.
England
boss Roy
Hodgson has been aware of Nigeria’s interest in Ibe, but
admitted he won’t rush to give him a call-up just to lock him up.
