Many African women are under pressure to start a family and bear kids when they cross 30, and Oscar-winning actress Lupita Nyong’o is no exception.

Lupita, who covered the October 2015 issue of Vogue, told the magazine that her mum was already dropping hints for her to marry.

Lupita however added that she’d only take that step when she had found the right person.

“This is my conundrum. When I was back in Kenya this past week, I would be driving along with my mother and she would say, ‘That’s a nice school for children’ and look at me like (raising eyebrows),” the Jungle Book star said.

“My mom wants me to have children now. But I think that will all be determined when I have that moment. When I have that man.”

Lupita’s last public relationship was with Somali-Canadian singer K’naan, which ended in 2014.
