Lionel Messi who missed a
training session to attend the birth of his son started on the bench for
Barcelona for the first time since January 2015 came off the bench to score the
winner for Barcelona against Atletico Madrid.
In what was a very physical match, Atletico Madrid did
well to close down every space available for Barcelona in a boring first half.
In the 51st minute, Fernando Torres brought the
game to life, as he ran on to Tiago’s pass before finishing past Ter Stegen to
make it 1-0. 4 minutes after however, Barcelona were back on level terms as
Neymar curled in a freekick from just outside the box. Lionel Messi was brought
on for Rakitic in the 64thminute and in
the 77th minute, Suarez laid the ball into the
Argentine’s path and he made no mistake knocking the ball slightly over the
keeper to make it 2-1
Barcelona sit top of the table with three wins from a
possible three and look to be finding their best form.
