Pope
Francis is still daring to be different and be humble. Despite the Vatican
being an estimated $10 – $15 billion rich, the car the Pope used for his
U.S. visit was a compact Fiat 500L.
After
landing at the Andrews Air Force Base and received by President Obama and
Vice President Biden, the Pope left in the unassuming vehicle.
Hundreds
of guests cheered him and an honor guard stood at attention and a high school
band performed the Pharrell Williams song “Happy.” Four children from local
Roman Catholic schools greeted him, with one handing him flowers.
The previous
pope, Pope Benedict’s official vehicle was usually a modified Mercedes G-Wagon.
