Former QPR boss, Harry Redknapp believes the current Liverpool
team are the worst in years and believes they’re lucky to be 10th.
Liverpool
manager Rodgers saw the likes of Sterling and Gerrard leave the club a season
after Suarez left, with Sturridge injured also.
Redknapp
says Rodgers is not to blame, but believes the current crop of players at
Liverpool are not the same quality that it used to be.
“I
said I thought this is the worst Liverpool team in 10 years,” the former QPR
boss told BT Sport. “They lost Gerrard and these are important, very players.
“It’s
not all down to Brendan. He could do nothing about Raheem Sterling or Luis
Suarez leaving or Daniel Sturridge being injured. It’s a difficult time for
him.”
On
Liverpool’s start to the season he added: “They’re fortunate to have the amount
of points they have. The Bournemouth game was a good example. They should never
have won that.
“They
were also fortunate at Stoke. They’re not playing particularly well at the
moment.”
