A Danish man was arrested after
pieces of female genitalia were found in his freezer, South African police said
on Saturday.
According to the police, scalpels, anaesthetics and
other medical materials were found in the Bloemfontein home of the suspect, a
58 year-old married father of two.
“We are not sure how many victims there are; we are in the process
of tracing them,’’ police spokesman, Hangwani Mulaudzi, said.
Mulaudzi said that the authorities made the discovery
after one of the victim’s contacted police.
The man will appear in court on Monday on charges of
sexual assault, said Mulaudzi. Police have enlisted the help of forensics
experts who may find other criminal charges, the spokesman added.
Mulaudzi couldn’t identify the man’s motive. It is not
known if the body parts are from 21 different women. It is not known how the
man committed the assaults or if the women are dead or alive.
