Ojuelegba truck driver in court
The truck driver whose container fell off the Ojuelegba bridge
and killed 3 people has been remanded in prison by a Lagos court.
The driver, Wasiu
Adeleke, was arraigned before the Lagos Magistrate Court in
Yaba by the Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department of Lagos
State Police Command for multiple manslaughter.
Adeleke was ordered to be remanded by magistrate, Mrs
Folashade Botoku.
The CIID has arraigned Adeleke on an 11-count charge that
included gross negligence and reckless disregard for human life, reckless
and dangerous driving, driving in public highway without valid driver’s
license, a valid MOT Test Certificate, road worthiness certificate, vehicle
license and unlawful damage.
He was accused of killing 3 people in the incident, and also
damaging property by the prosecuting Police officer, Godwin
Osuyi.
