The peaceful protest that is being
embarked upon by the students of the University of
Port Harcourt (UNIPORT) on Monday morning
has taken a new twist as reports reaching us have it that armed officials of
the Nigerian Police Force have shot dead one of the students. (This was
reported via Twitter by students).
It was gathered that the
protester, Comrade Peter – the president of Faculty of Management Science – was
immediately rushed to the hospital after the gunfire but did not survive the
wound.

The deceased, Peter is seen
riddled with bullet holes in his torso.
The witness, @Roland_speaks continued via various tweets on
twitter:
“This Government led by Buhari should be ready to kill us all.”
“How
can you kill a Final year student for protesting, Nigeria is a mad nation.”
“How
can you shoot a Final year student to death for protesting? Nigeria is a cursed
country.”
“A
lot of things need to be done, killing Nigerian student is part things to be
done by APC led federal government. Sour country.”
“After
Comr Peter was shot, he was rushed to LuLu Briggs for treatment but he couldn’t
survive the gun wound, RIP comrade.”
“What
will Nigerian police force and Uniport Management tell the parents of late
Peter?,” he wrote.
More details to be added as the story develops…
