NiMet predicts cloudy, rainy weather for Friday



The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted cloudy weather conditions over the central states on Friday with chances of morning rain over Jos and Lafia.
The predictions are contained in the Weather Outlook issued by NiMet’s Central Forecast Office (CFO) in Abuja on Thursday.
 It explained that few thunderstorms would prevail over the high ground areas in the afternoon and evening with maximum day time temperatures of 28 degrees to 33 degrees Celsius. The agency predicted that the southern states would experience cloudy condition in the morning with chances of rain showers over Calabar, Eket and Yenegoa.
It said that there would be chances of isolated thunderstorms over the inland and coastal cities in the evening hours with maximum day time temperatures of 28 degrees to 32 degrees Celsius.
NiMet also predicted that Northern states of Sokoto, Kano, Nguru, Dutse, Katsina, Maiduguri and Yelwa would experience overnight and morning thunderstorms with maximum day time temperatures of 33 degrees to 34 degrees Celsius. According to the prediction, high pressure belt across most parts of the country suggest fair weather condition over the central and the southern cities, especially during the morning hours of Friday.
