Nigerian midfielder, Rabiu Ibrahim has completed a move to
Belgian club, KAA Gent, from Slovakian champions, AS Trencin on a three-year
deal.
The 25-year-old creative midfielder who was seen by many as a perfect replacement for former national team skipper, Austin Okocha, joined The Buffalos on Tuesday after passing his medicals, and has already been described as “an elegant player” by the club.
Supersport quoted the club in a statement on
Tuesday stating that, “KAA Gent has today completed the transfer of the
25-year-old Nigerian central midfielder Rabiu Ibrahim. Rabiu comes from the
Slovakian side AS Trencin.”The 25-year-old creative midfielder who was seen by many as a perfect replacement for former national team skipper, Austin Okocha, joined The Buffalos on Tuesday after passing his medicals, and has already been described as “an elegant player” by the club.
Gent, who has another Nigerian midfielder, Moses Simon, also signed from AS Trencin in its pay roll, described the former PSV midfielder as a player “with great technical ability.”
Ibrahim has played five times for the Nigerian senior team.
The midfielder featured prominently for AS Trencin as the club won the Slovakian double last season.
He played 61 games, scoring 11 goals and providing nine assists in his two-year spell at Trencin.
