Manchester City striker Wilfried Bony has signed for Stoke
City on a season-long loan deal.
Ivory Coast international Bony, 27, has made 15 Premier League starts for City since signing for £28m from Swansea City in January 2015 had not featured under new boss Pep Guardiola.
"Bringing Wilfried in was a no-brainer for
us," said Potters manager Mark Hughes.Ivory Coast international Bony, 27, has made 15 Premier League starts for City since signing for £28m from Swansea City in January 2015 had not featured under new boss Pep Guardiola.
"He has power, speed and very good physical attributes."
Stoke targeted Bony as there had been no development in their attempt to sign West Brom forward Saido Berahino.
Last week, West Ham United manager Slaven Bilic said he was interested in signing Bony, who has three years left to run on his contract at Etihad Stadium.
The Potters have also signed Derby keeper Lee Grant on loan until January while Porto defender Bruno Martins Indi, 24, is also in talks with Stoke.
Grant, 33, is in his second spell at the Rams, after rejoining them in 2013 from Burnley, but has not played this season.
