Kano Pillars have dismissed coach Okey Emordi following the team’s poor performance.
The announcement was made by the club’s spokesman, Idris
Malikawa, also revealing that the club’s board would meet on
Tuesday to discuss a replacement for Emordi.
Pillars, who are the defending
champions, are currently in 9th place in the league table, with 27 points from
19 games.
The club has also had a tough
time in club competitions, with lower league outfit Plateau United
knocking them out of the Federation Cup and exiting the CAF Champions League in
the 1st round.
A vote of no confidence in Emordi
was passed by the players and the fans, leading to his sack.
