Shakhtar Donetsk have qualified for the play offs of the UEFA cha, pions league following a 3-0 aggregate win over Fenerbache.
Van Persie was unavailable for his new side but teammate Nani was but it took 25 minutes forGladky to give Shakhtar the lead as he tapped in Dario Srna’s square ball from six yards. Fenerbache did a good job of searching for an equalizer and an away goal as the first leg finished 0-0 but their job was made harder when Kjaer was brought down by the Fenerbache goalkeeper in the box as Srna converted the resulting penalty to make it 2-0. The match was over as a contest in the 68th minute as Teixiera bursted out from the wing to receive a diagonal ball and slot it into the corner of the net to make it 3-0
So, there would be not Nani, or Van Persie in this season’s UEFA champions league even though both players fancied their chances with their new club
