Radio Esport Valencia reports that Barcelona
are plotting a January move for Valencia defender Shkodran Mustafi.
Mustafi,
who moved to Valencia from Sampdoria in an €8million deal last year, has
adapted quickly to life in La Liga and his performances have caught the eye of
Barca boss Luis Enrique.
According
to Radio Esport Valencia, Barca have been so impressed with the Germany
international that they are preparing to make a move for him when the transfer
window re-opens at the start of next year.
Even
though Mustafi is under contract until 2019 with a €50m release clause, sources
in Germany have suggested that Barca will make an opening bid of between €20m
and €30m.
Mustafi,
who was linked heavily with Real Madrid earlier this summer, has become an even
more key figure at Valencia since the sale of Nicolas Otamendi to Manchester
City.
