Djokovic – Federer for US Open final
Barely
2 months after they matched up in the Wimbledon final, Novak Djokovic and Roger Federerare
meeting again in a Grand Slam final.
Djokovic
made easy work of defending US Open champion Marin Cilic, winning 6-0 6-1 6-2 in just
under 85 minutes.
Federer
continued his hot run of form, also making quick work of compatriot Stan Wawrinka, 6-4
6-3 6-1.
Both
were able to prevent upsets unlike in the female competition, where the top 2
seeds Serena Williams and Simona Halep suffered
shock exits.
Djokovic
had won when the duo had faced at the Wimbledon finals, but Federer had won
their last match up at the Cincinnati Masters.
